About

Jay Skull is based out of Northwest Arkansas.

Jay Skull Has been a musician most of his life. He started playing drums at the age of 9, and at age 12 he picked up the Bass, then played which ever instrument the band needed him to play. By age 13, Jay had performed 10 live events with his grandparents' country band.

They mostly played for charritable events and fund raisers.

At age 14, Jay picked up the six string and started learning from watching his grandfather. He had high aspirations to learn everything he could, and quickly started learning songs from the heavy metal band Metallica, getting him kicked out of the country band.

Jay went solo and started playing at back yard parties, occasionally joining his friends on stage.

In 2009, he was involed in an accident that left him barely able to walk. After 5 years of rehabilitation, he was finally able to walk on his own.

He quickly picked up the guitar and started learning to play again. He struggled for another 5 years to try and play like he used to play.

He struggled to get his hands to work correctly, so he began searching for stretches and guitar exercises to get his hands working together once more.

Jay then started taking online music theory class in 2021.

After three years of studying theory, and working on the guitar exercises he learned, his hands started to work in his favor again.

Jay was able to play songs again, but not like he used to play; he works day in and day out trying to return to his former abilites on guitar.

Today, Jay is focused on helping others to push past their own struggles with guitar, while working on writing his own orignal metal music.
